“Oh no, not another restrictive diet suggestion. What ELSE am I doing wrong?”

You’re unsure if these tips will work or — if you’ll have the discipline to follow through.

Still, you’re curious and hope to improve your health, well-being, and energy levels.

Maybe you’re here because you often feel sluggish and drained of energy.

Maybe you’ve put on too much weight.

You want to change.

You want to enjoy a lean body, buzzing with energy to put towards your goals, friends, and family.

I’ll show you why eliminating these three poisons from your diet will unlock your health and well-being.

Plus, a potent trick for doing it quickly.

The Unexpected

First-hand experience is the most powerful.

I’m going to challenge you:

If you have any doubts, give yourself a week of “no limits.”

Just indulge.

Enjoy as many foods with sugar, wheat, and salt as you like and can.

In the evenings, check how you feel.

Rate your energy and mood from 1–10. It’s only going to take a minute — seven minutes in total.

See what your body says — no need to take my word for it.

Sugar Is A Refined Drug

Sugar is “empty calories.” It is void of nutrients.

“But if I eat an overall healthy diet, I’ll get sufficient nutrients anyways.”

Yes, but refined sugar causes two serious problems:

The first is inflammation:

“The evidence suggests that eating too much added sugar and too many refined carbohydrates causes inflammation in your body. Over time, the inflammation caused by poor dietary habits may lead to several health problems, such as heart disease, diabetes, liver disease and cancer.”

— Healthline

The second is an imbalanced gut microbiome.

“An imbalance of unhealthy and healthy microbes in the intestines may contribute to weight gain, high blood sugar, high cholesterol, and other disorders.”

Grains Make You Stupid

Grains are equal to sugar.

“What matters is how much a particular carb raises your blood sugar. Bread is a complex carb, sugar a simple carb. But eating two slices of whole wheat bread raises your blood sugar more than eating 2 tablespoons of table sugar does! “ ––“WTF should I eat”(2018) by Dr. Mark Hyman

Grains can cause leaky gut and trigger allergies.

Not everyone is allergic to gluten. You’re not, so why care?

“Recent evidence has found that anyone who consumes gluten may have a mild form of leaky gut. Over the past 50 years there’s been an almost unbelievable 400 percent rise in the number of Americans suffering with celiac.”

— Dr. Mark Hyman

This may be due to changes in the way we farm our grains (monocultures, yield-optimized strains).

“Our bodies don’t know what to do with gluten. So, when you consume it, it can confuse your immune system, setting off a cascade of health issues.”

You could have adverse effects from gluten without noticing.

Leaky Gut

When eating gluten, our bodies produce a protein called Zonulin.

More quotes from Dr. Hyman’s book:

“Zonulin creates a leaky gut by opening up the tight junctions between intestinal cells that are normally stuck together like Lego pieces so that food and microbes can’t “leak” into the spaces between cells of the small intestine’s lining. Normally food and particles get filtered through the cells and don’t go between them. That’s important because 60 percent of our immune system is right under the one-cell-thick lining of our intestine.”

When those particles sneak through the intestine’s lining, your immune system sounds the alarm.

Inflammation enters the picture.

Here’s a summary of Dr. David Perlmutter’s book “Grain Brain.” on how grain consumption can make you stupid.

Your Heart Hates Salt

The food industry adds salt to make foods taste better. Often we do it ourselves.

Salt imbalances your blood pressure by making your body store water.

Salt is necessary, but excess amounts are unhealthy.

You want to control how much salt you eat. Processed foods and snacks make this hard.

Besides, foods with lots of salt are often processed non-foods (like chips).

It’s easy to choose foods that taste great, but what is it doing to your body?

When Will This Torture End?

Wow, this isn’t fun.

Besides, one would need Herculean willpower to make a change…

There’s going to be tears!

A lot of fun, actually. Once you have tons of energy, clean digestion, and cessation of mood swings.

There will be tears of joy and gratitude (I’m serious).

You don’t have to start a food diary or worry yourself to death.

Instead, you’ll use “Bright Lines” to change quickly and easily.

A Powerful Trick

Bright lines mean you set a clear rule of what goes and what doesn’t.

Is Facebook haunting you all the way to bed? A bright line is: “No cell phone in the bedroom.”

Eating at Mc Donalds far too often? “No more eating at Mc Donalds.”

You might slip a few times, and that’s okay.

Bright lines eliminated unnecessary bargaining. The rules are clear. It’s simple to execute; no thinking is required.

How to apply this to eating?

  • No refined sugar.
  • No grains.
  • No refined salt.

This is a big ask. If it’s too much, start with one. I suggest artificial sugar.

Still too painful? Then avoid products where sugar is listed in the first five ingredients.” This means one thing: a lot of sugar.

Commit for 30 days. The mere thought is giving you nightmares? Commit for 7 days first and then re-commit.

Tell someone about your plan. So you’d feel terrible if you were to let it slide.

Avoiding products with sugar on the label will eliminate unnecessary junk.

If you love chocolate, go for a 90% or 99% version. But make this your only exception. You must have clear rules for this to work.

Avoid 70% chocolate, or you won’t feel the benefits of kicking the sugar habit.

As you feel the benefits for yourself, you gain motivation to keep going.

“I’m missing out…”

Photo by Roberto Valdivia on Unsplash

Relax. That feeling will soon be replaced by calm alertness. Give it a few weeks.

I used to love sweets. At one point, I ate about 15 Kinder Maxi King all at once (almost 3 cups of sugar).

I loved that taste.

I haven’t had a single sweet like cake or chocolate in about 6 years.

Not because I love to torture myself.

I don’t miss it. My body has adapted, and the craving has ceased.

The Benefits Of Dictatorship

  • When you buy foods with excess sugar or salt, you are purchasing mostly processed non-foods.

They are crammed with other harmful stuff as well.

Luckily, the opposite is also true:

  • When you don’t buy foods with excess sugar or salt, you are mostly buying real foods.

There is no need for thinking or bargaining at the store.

“If God made it, eat it. If man made it, leave it.”

— Dr. Mark Hyman
